In April, Clark’s soccer team announced the signing of La Center High School’s Brendon Leach.
After discussing with his family, Leach had to make a difficult decision on where he wanted to attend college. He said the pandemic made that decision very easy.
The 18-year-old senior said he chose to attend Clark College because it is close to where he lives.
“I am able to help out my family and still live at home,” Leach said.
Leach also gave high praise to Clark’s soccer coaches and said he is excited to join their program.
The pandemic has held Clark’s soccer team from competition for well over a year now. Leach has been staying in shape by going on runs with his brother. He said that he believes that being in quarantine over the last year will only motivate him and his new teammates to work harder for their next season.
“I’m really excited about the soccer program, but I am also really excited to learn about business through my classes,” Leach said.
The high school senior says that he sees himself going to a four-year university after his time here and is hoping to continue competing on the soccer pitch as well.
