Honor Society Hosts Meet and Greet

Members of the Clark Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Alpha Sigma Phi, hosted a meet and greet in PUB 258A on Thursday afternoon to recruit potential members.

PTK is an international honor society for two-year college students. The chapter meets every Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The meet and greet, which was open to the public, featured a presentation performed by Clark student and ASP President Maya Martin. More than 30 students attended, and pizza and soda was served.

Over 1,000 students from Clark have been inducted to PTK since 1996, Martin said.
The benefits of PTK membership include the development of leadership skills and a boost to your resume and networking opportunities, Martin said. PTK’s volunteer activities around campus include tree plantings and book donation drives, according to the ASP Facebook page.

PTK members have access to exclusive scholarships. The PTK awards over $1 million in scholarships every year, and $37 million worth of scholarships are offered exclusively to PTK members by various universities and colleges, according to their website.
Students with a GPA of 3.5 or above are eligible for PTK membership. The one-time application fee for membership is $65.
