Work for Walt Disney

The Disney College Program is providing an internship opportunity for college students to advance their strengths and interests through personal and career development classes.

Employment Specialist and Internship Coordinator Carolyn Johnson said the program is a chance to meet guests and cast members from around the country and build problem-solving, teamwork, guest service and effective communication skills. “Since Disney is considered a ‘happy place’ and has high standards, it looks very impressive on a resume.”

Applications are available online at DisneyCareers.com where students can choose from 20 different positions at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California. There are minimum wage paid jobs available in the operations, entertainment, lodging, food and beverage, retail and recreation sections.

The internship earns a student up to 15 elective credits. Students are required to travel to Renton, Seattle on March 4 on their own expenses if they choose to tryout for a Disney character. Sign-in is at 10 a.m. and auditions start at 10:30 a.m. in Evergreen City Ballet. Every other job opportunity only requires an online application and a resume.

Students must be currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited program or institution and have completed at least one semester or have graduated within the past six months. All participants must be at least 18 years of age by their arrival date.
Johnson said five to six Clark students apply for the program each year.
