The Red Cross Bloodmobile is coming to Clark College. Students and faculty are invited to donate blood Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside the Penguin Union Building, next to Andersen Fountain.
Donations can be made by showing up to the Bloodmobile with a picture ID, or an appointment can be scheduled by visiting the Health Science Counseling Center in HSC 124 or calling Program Coordinator Marianne Luther at (360) 992-2614. Appointments can also be scheduled at www.redcrossblood.org by entering sponsor code “clarkcollege”.
The whole process takes about 45 minutes. “All the volunteers that work there are friendly and nice,” according to Luther. “Not an intimidating process at all.”
An average of 20-30 people donate at every event. Luther said 36 slots are available. Donations are shipped to hospitals after being processed and tested. Clark also works with Bloodworks Northwest, which distributes donations to local hospitals.
