Arist Speaks to Inspire

By Clandice Moffet in Campus

Graphic designer Kate Bingaman-Burt will host Clark’s next lecture in Clark’s Art Talks series in the Fireside Lounge tonight.

The lecture will be at 7 p.m.

Senseney Stokes, Art Talks Committee chair, began the series to have something for the community, not just art students.

“She’ll be able to cover a lot of aspects of design to students,” Stokes said.

Bingaman-Burt is the head of the Graphic Design program at Portland State University.

Her first book, “Obsessive Consumption: What Did You Buy Today?” was published in 2010, according to Clark’s website. She has designed for clients such as the New York Times, the Museum of Modern Art, Gap and the Museum of Contemporary Craft.

“If people haven’t been yet, they should start coming to our talks,” Stokes said.
