Meet Clark’s New Women’s Soccer Coach

Earlier this year Clark announced Peter Pickett as the new head coach of the women’s soccer team. The penguins are coming off a heartbreaking season that ended in a 1-0 loss in the playoffs and Pickett knows he has some big shoes to fill.

He has been with the team as an assistant coach for the last four years. Pickett spent the last two years working under coach Jeff Castagnola. Before that he spent two years with coach Sean Janson. He said his time working with them was a wonderful experience, “I got to see how Jeff and Sean ran the program, and see them build Clark to where it is today.”

Clark has won the last four Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region Championships but Pickett isn’t a stranger to this league and knows it’s only getting tougher. Pickett hasn’t wasted any time improving the squad with this year’s recruiting class.

“The group we brought in this year is good… we’re excited for them to join the team,” Picket said. Anna Neal was one stand out for Pickett, she won the GSHL defensive player of the year her last year in high school, she is fast and loves to put balls in the back of the net. Another player to watch is Paige German. She is a talented dribbler that loves to attack the goal and earned GSHL first team all-league her last year at Hudson’s Bay High School.
