Slideshow: Clark College Hosts Memorial for Murdered Transgender Teen Nikki Kuhnhausen

Family, friends and supporting community members mourn the loss of Nikki Kuhnhausen Sunday evening, March 1, at Clark College.

Kunhausen was murdered June, 2018 as a victim of a transphobic hate crime. Her body was found in December that same year.

The Washington House and Senate approved HB 1687 dubbed the Nikki Kuhnhausen Act, which bans the panic defense as a legal strategy for defendants accused of murdering members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The memorial deliberately did not mention anything involving the case, as the event was made to mourn and celebrate the life of Nikki Kunhausen.
