A penguin’s guide to tacos, nachos and burritos near Clark College

Ever feel hungry for a quick bite between classes? Here is your guide to tacos, nachos, burritos, and more within a mile of Clark.

El Antojo

2505 E Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661

This spot perfectly mashes together restaurant-quality food with fast food speed and environment. El Antojo has free Wi-Fi, refills on drinks and chips and salsa for dine-in customers. For those in a hurry, it also has a drive-thru. The food is delicious and surprisingly authentic for what appears as a fast food joint. El Antojo boasts a diverse menu as well as Mexican sodas and four aguas fresca flavors. All of that and Monday-Friday, from 2 to 5 p.m., you can take advantage of their happy hour with 89 cent tacos! You won’t find a cheaper taco around.

Don Taco

2610 E Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661

For a cute authentic dining experience, Don Taco is your place! Bright green walls and brick-lined windows makes this restaurant feel like more of an experience rather than just another food spot. Tacos are $2.50 a piece, a little on the pricier side, but absolutely loaded with meat and still affordable! They have a salad and salsa bar for dine-in customers as well. The menu has everything you could think of in terms of Mexican food and even some American dishes, like hamburgers. The fare is amazing and totally worth a try!

Dulce Tentacion Bakery

3220 E Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661

While this isn’t technically a restaurant, it deserves a mention. Dulce Tentacion is a Mexican market and bakery that also serves tacos in the afternoon and tamales (which are incredible!!) all day. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the store is packed with pastries and baked goods, as well as a small grocery market. They also make beautiful cakes! This small shop is definitely one you should stop by.

Taco Time

2600 E Fourth Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661

Now, Taco Time isn’t really a Mexican restaurant. It’s Americanized ‘Mexican’ fast food, but that’s some people’s poison! It’s definitely the fastest option for you. So, if you’re craving a burrito before your class that starts in 10 minutes, Taco Time is your best bet. It has a drive-thru and a dine-in area. The food is far from authentic, but works in a pinch. They’ve also got a four for $5.95 deal, with options including tacos, burritos, empanadas, and quesadillas.
