The Board decided on October 29. to acknowledge all four complaints against a former employee for violating the non-discrimination policy.
The Board of Trustees retracted their decision from their Sept. 3rd meeting when they voted to acknowledge only one complaint.
After this decision, three of the four complainants filed appeals so that the board would reconsider. On October 4, Vice President of Administrative Services Bob Williamson, sent an email to the Indy after a public records request was put in regarding the report from the investigation. In the email, Williamson said that they were holding the report because the board decided to reconsider the four complaints.
In a special meeting held on Oct. 29, the board voted to acknowledge all four complaints made against a former employee of the college.
“Today’s action amends an earlier decision on this matter,” the statement from the board said.
According to the statement, there was a great deal of evidence that the former employee had violated the college’s policy.
Issue 4 of the Indy, coming to stands Nov. 25, will feature a more detailed investigation of this newly voted decision.
