For some students, college can be all about partying, joining clubs, taking part in activities and making new friends.
For Maya Martinez, this is not the case. A running start student, 17-year-old Martinez begins her second year at Clark College with one key goal in mind.
“I just want to get through each of my classes with passing grades,” Martinez said. “At the moment I’m not interested in any other activities.”
For Fall term, Martinez has a full schedule with English, sociology, ballet and small group communications.
Finishing running start, Martinez will graduate from Clark with her general associate’s degree.
