Students interested in Clark’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management can apply now for classes beginning in Fall 2018.
Both skilled workers and experts in any field can find it difficult to transition from worker to manager or business owner.
According to Patti Serrano, a business professor at Clark and the program’s director, Clark’s business division heard from many employers that they were not getting managerial applicants with the right skill set.
Students getting hired as a manager with the degree will begin their career with a 38 percent higher salary, according to research conducted by Clark’s business division, Serrano said.
The degree combines technical, academic and professional management courses.
This program was the second of three at Clark to offer bachelor’s degrees. It began in January 2017, and it graduated 12 students in December.
Students who have completed a technical program or higher, which includes Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Applied Technology degrees, can apply to join the bachelor’s degree program.
Each quarter, evening hybrid and online classes are offered, giving students time to gain on-the-job experience during the day.
