Career Days Kick Off In Style

Clark College students enjoyed a wardrobe upgrade at the Career Clothing Closet event in Gaiser Hall on Thursday and Friday.

Professional wardrobes and accessories were donated by students, community members, drycleaners and even Mayor Tim Leavitt, and were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to any student in need of an interview outfit.

In a change from previous years, donations were collected year-round.

“It really made a difference in how many students we can help,” said Career Services program assistant Sharron Orr.

Students were able to hand-select an entire wardrobe, including accessories, shoes and purses. After selecting their clothes, students tried them on in a dressing room and checked out with a full professional wardrobe.

The Career Clothing Closet is intended to prepare students for the Clark College Career Days, which will run all of next week on campus.
