Students funneled into a small conference room in Cannell Library early Wednesday morning to partake in a breakfast of cereal, muffins, fruit and one rather inedible addition: books. Lots of books.
From April 18-21 in PUB 160, APB is collecting used books that are in relatively good condition to donate to Vancouver Public Schools. “Breakfast and Books” was created as a special component of this book collection.
Students came to get a free breakfast, make bookmarks, discuss their favorite books and of course donate books.
“Free food is always a good thing,” said Alex Arabadzhi, a student who attended the event. “But it’s nice to talk about books. They have affected my life a lot and changed how I think.”
Members of APB and Friends of the Library helped to coordinate the event.
