The deadline to nominate your favorite faculty members for Clark’s annual Exceptional Faculty Awards is March 18 at 5 p.m.
Since 1993, the awards have recognized committed, outstanding part-time and full-time faculty who leave lasting positive impacts on students. The awards are made possible through an endowed trust fund established by the Washington State Legislature and the Clark College Exceptional Faculty Endowment Fund, according to Clark’s website.
The college highly encourages students to nominate faculty members. Faculty, classified employees, administrators, alumni, board members and foundation directors may also submit nominations. All instructors, librarians, counselors and department heads are eligible for the award unless they were recipients within the last four years.
President Bob Knight said the winners will be announced during the 2016 Graduation Commencement Ceremony on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater in Ridgefield. Knight believes announcing the recipients at graduation is a great way to honor the recipients, since it’s the largest audience Clark attracts each year.
“I think it’s a wonderful award,” Knight said. “It’s a great way to recognize our faculty, and I don’t think we recognize them enough.”
