Clark Celebrates Day of the Children

By Nathan Taylor in Campus

Clark will celebrate the annual Latino holiday of Children’s Day on May 1 from 5-8 p.m. in the Gaiser Student Center.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their children.

Clark Spanish students will read stories and provide dancing, crafts, games and snacks.

There will also be a puppet show put on by the Ping Pong Pint Size Puppet Museum of Portland.

Children’s Day, or Dia del Nino, is held on April 30 in Mexico as part of a worldwide holiday to honor children. The holiday dates back to 1925. School lessons are typically suspended and children bring foods and games to share with classmates.
