Emergency Evacuation Exercise

By Esther Manea in Campus

Clark will conduct an evacuation drill May 7 to prepare students and staff for emergencies.

All Clark campuses, including the main campus, Columbia Tech Center, WSU Vancouver and downtown Corporate & Continuing Education site, will evacuate at 10:40 a.m.

During the drill, everyone will evacuate to the nearest Assembly Area on campus. Faculty and staff volunteers with emergency vests will help direct the way.

Clark will host exercises each year to help maintain a safe educational environment, Clark College President Bob Knight said.

He said that the goal is to keep students safe. “I understand that this may be an inconvenience, but we are doing this with everyone’s safety in mind,” Knight said in an email.

If you need accommodation due to a disability in order to fully participate in this event, you should contact Clark’s Disability Support Services Office at 360-992-2314 or 360-991-0901 VP, or visit PUB 013.
