Bookstore Offers Prizes for Completed Surveys

By Steven Cooper in Campus

The Clark College Bookstore is giving away one free iPad Mini to someone who completes a store survey.

Those who take the survey online also receive a $5 bookstore coupon, valid with any purchase of $20 or more. Those taking it in the bookstore will receive a candy bar.

The survey is available through May 2, and the iPad Mini winner will be announced sometime in the following days, said Leah Skeen, the bookstore secretary senior.

Skeen said the bookstore will use the survey to identify “services students need and want.”

According to Skeen, the bookstore usually conducts this type of survey every two to four years. The bookstore last conducted the survey in 2010.

Skeen said the Bookstore offered e-books and rental books based on past surveys. The bookstore also offered a wider selection of food and beverages after feedback from smaller surveys at checkout.

The bookstore hires a trade association, The National Association of College Stores, to conduct the survey and ensure anonymity of respondents, Skeen said. The bookstore only sees the compiled results provided by the NACS and doesn’t receive the personal information of respondents.

According to Skeen, when the bookstore hired the NACS to conduct the survey, it was entered in a nation-wide drawing with other stores. The Clark College Bookstore won the drawing and received an iPad Mini.

Now that iPad Mini is up for grabs again, and any person who completes the survey has a chance at winning.
